WITH the new Wiltshire Air Ambulance becoming operational this month, the Westbury shop is hoping local residents will continue their generous support of the charity.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal shop in Maristow Street is the only shop in the county dedicated to the appeal, and has been supporting the charity for almost 17 years.
With the air ambulance relying entirely on the support of the public to raise £2.5million a year, the shop is reminding people there are several ways you can help.
You can donate items to the shop – such as bric-a-brac, books, clothes, and small items of furniture. Most items – except for electrical items – are accepted.
The shop would also welcome more volunteers.
Alternatively, you can simply browse and buy from the shop.
Manager Carrie Aldous said, “The support we get is tremendous. We get regulars coming in from the local area, some that come in from Trowbridge and Bath, and some people do come from quite a distance. We get so much stock, we can offer a bargain, and have a friendly atmosphere as well.”
