WESTBURY company, Waste to Wonder, which redistributes unwanted office equipment to good causes, has won a Gold Award at the Green World Awards held in Nova Odessa, Brazil.
Waste to Wonder was previously honoured with the Green Apple Award and the Green Apple Champion of Champions awards last summer.
Managing director for the company, Michael Amos said, “This recognition is our first international award and a significant milestone in our journey with the social enterprise movement.
“Winning a Gold Green World award in Brazil is not just a celebration of our achievements, it’s a call to action. It inspires us to continue our work, pushing the boundaries of environmental stewardship and social responsibility, one piece of furniture at a time. We’re challenging the perception of waste on a global stage!”
The Green World Awards are one of the top environment awards campaigns on the planet. The awards are presented in a different country every year and are organised by The Green Organisation – an independent, international, non-profit, non-political envi-
ronment membership group that began in 1994 to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
Michael added, “Our commitment at Waste to Wonder extends beyond accolades. Last year alone, we diverted £5.9million worth of office furniture and equipment from landfills, donating it to deserving causes worldwide. This effort saved approximately 2,500 tons of equipment from waste, underscoring our dedication to environmental sustainability and social impact.
“By transforming what was once considered waste into valuable resources, we’re not only enhancing educational opportunities for young people across the globe but also demonstrating the power of sustainable practices in making a tangible difference.”
