WITH Oval Peugeot vacating the site on Warminster Road, it is anticipated that ALDI will be moving in to bring a new supermarket to Westbury.
Earlier this year, ALDI successfully submitted an application to extend planning permission for a new store on the site in Warminster Road, after planning permission was originally granted in 2007.
Oval Peugeot have now vacated the site, moving to their new premises on the West Wilts Trading Estate. The land in the planning application covers the current car sales showroom and yard. Westbury Town Council has supported the latest planning application.
ALDI told the White Horse News that no-one was available to comment on plans for the site.
Westbury’s Mayor, cllr Sue Ezra said, “Good news, I see that ALDI is getting ready to start building their new store in Warminster Road. With that will come more jobs for the town, first by the builders hopefully requiring staff and then the store itself. Any jobs are always good for Westbury.”
