Westbury’s micro-brewery, Twisted Brewing, launched in May 2014, is celebrating a Wiltshire Life award, which was presented at The Steam Museum in Swindon on Friday 23rd March.
The Wiltshire Life magazine awards say they “scour the county for tales of creative endeavour, bravery, community spirit, business acumen and young entrepreneurship and sportsmanship. The county’s residents aren’t short on pluck and as they continue to work in ways that can only promote Wiltshire, Wiltshire Life continue to champion them.
“The awards seek to raise the profile and awareness of not just profitable businesses, but also the charities and community groups; the young, the older people in our community and everyone in between; those who seek to put the county on the map; designers; the food producers who are making a name for themselves locally, nationally and internationally; the people who keep us entertained with their events, restaurants, pubs and artwork; conservationists; sporting stars from all realms; our special towns and businesses that we can be proud of.”
Twisted Brewing were nominated in the ‘Independent Food/Drink Producer’ category and took third place, being awarded a certificate and marketing from the magazine.
Andrew Murray, the brewer and owner of Twisted attended the black tie evening with his wife Donna. The evening was hosted by BBC’s Sue Davies. We sent down samples for the judges to taste-test earlier this year, after being nominated,” he explained. “
To take third place on the night at such a prestigious competition was a great honour, we never tire of promoting Westbury in Wiltshire. Our beers have great Wiltshire provenance, being stocked and drunk in a number of great local pubs, as well as across the country.”
