Support worker Becky Mundy raised £700 when she skydived out of a plane to raise money for Alzheimer’s Support.
Becky, 21, did the 13,000ft skydive at Netheravon last month. She said, “I wanted to do this to raise money but also to raise awareness of dementia. There are so many people living with it and yet you don’t hear much about it compared to other illnesses like cancer. “I want to raise awareness and raise money for Alzheimer’s Support does so much to help them. “The skydive was the most amazing experience and knowing I was doing it for such a great cause made it even more special. Freefalling had to be the best part, travelling at 250mph from 13,000ft was such an adrenaline rush and the view was spectacular. Everyone should have this experience at least once in their life but I won’t be doing it again. Once is enough!” Alzheimer’s Support is an independent charity with its head office in Trowbridge. It operates throughout east and west Wiltshire to enhance life for people living at home with dementia and their family carers. The charity runs day clubs and a home and community support service. Other services include carers groups, training for carers, ‘Singing for the Brain’ groups, Alzheimer cafes and ‘Life Story’ groups.
