BRATTON Parish Council has agreed to raise the precept – money raised by the council to fund local services – by 5%.
The parish council reports, “At a council meeting on January 14th, the council agreed a budget of £39,387.00. It decided to raise the council tax precept by 5% which for a Band D property in the village means an additional annual cost of £3.62 per annum.
“Owners of Band D properties will pay £1.44 per week for the services provided by the parish council, compared with £1.37 this year.
“We hope that you all feel this is good value for money. This is the first increase for three years.”
