Bratton Silver Band will be performing ‘The Lost Village of Imber’ at the National Brass Band Championships to be held at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday 23rd September.
In 2019 Bratton Silver Band celebrated its 160th Anniversary and to commemorate this, the band commissioned a piece of music, ‘The Lost Village of Imber’, which was written by Christopher Bond, a renowned brass band, composer.
For the national championships, bands are split into five sections – Championship, First, Second, Third and Fourth sections. ‘The Lost Village of Imber’ is to be used as a test piece for the Third Section of all the 20 brass bands who have qualified from across Great Britain.
The next local event for Bratton Community Brass Band is a free autumn concert at Edington Priory Church on Saturday 28th October at 2.30pm. This will include music, marking the 80th anniversary of the evacuation of Imber village.
