A NEW campaign to raise awareness of responsible dog ownership and dog fouling will be coming to Westbury in the coming months.
Concerns about dog fouling and the need for action and awareness was listed as a priority in the ‘Westbury Forward’ community planning event held earlier this year. Aside from being unpleasant and causing distress to local residents, there is a public health risk from dog fouling.
The main purposes of the campaign will be to raise awareness about the importance of picking up after your dog, encourage responsible dog ownership, and work with the community to increase pride in the local environment. This will be done through a special event, poster campaign, and information in schools.
After being awarded a grant of £1,500 by the Westbury Area Board, the initiative is expected to start in the autumn throughout the Westbury community area.
