WESTBURY and Warminster Youth Club has recently become a registered charity meaning the club can now apply for larger amounts of funding and start bigger projects for its members.
Beth Mullins, leader of the youth club said, “Westbury Youth Club was set up in 2016 as a not-for-profit organisation due to government cuts meaning the council were no longer able to supply the staff to run youth clubs.
“One of the things that the trustees wanted was for the youth club to become a registered charity as this will give us more funding options and a better structure moving forward. The trustees and myself have been working on the application over the past couple of months. We are pleased to say that we have meet the requirements of the charity commission and as of 3rd May 2022 we are officially a registered charity.
“We would like to thank the team trustees, the local community and all the members for their support in making this possible.
“Going forward, we can now get gift aid and can apply for higher amounts in funding with certain providers; we can also apply to get cash back when supporters shop online. It’s opened so many doors for the youth club and will be a huge benefit to the young people.”
