Residents are being invited to get involved with the Westbury and District French Twinning Association as it looks to welcome new members and strengthen links with its partner town in France.
The group organises cultural events throughout the year, as well as exchange visits to Chateau-du-Loir.
“The Twinning is keen to be in contact with other organisations, groups and schools in Westbury so that we can develop connections with similar groups in Chateau-du-Loir,” said secretary Guy Parkinson.
“Our mission is to foster understanding, friendship and cultural exchange. We welcome everyone who is interested in French culture and making international connections, whether individuals or families.”
The group hopes the next trip will take place in 2027, when Westbury residents will travel to France to sign a new twinning charter, now that Chateau-du-Loir has become part of Montval-sur-Loir.
Other events, such as wine tastings, French film nights and language conversation groups, take place in Westbury throughout the year.
The next twinning association event will take place on Friday 15th May from 7pm at the Westbury United Reformed Church Hall, where the Bobby Van Trust will deliver a talk on safer internet use. All are welcome to attend, and entry costs £3.
