A WESTBURY-based cheese and dairy business has donated £750 to Dorothy House Hospice Care after winning a rowing challenge against their London-based colleagues.
Staff from Savencia Fromage and Dairy UK in Westbury were challenged by colleagues based in Hampton, London, to see who could row the furthest distance during the company’s global health and safety week.
Both offices used rowing machines purchased by their general manager, Nicolas Philippot.
The Westbury team finished the week triumphant, rowing approximately 230km, which is almost the distance from Bradford on Avon to their rival’s office in Hampton.
“Staff rowed in their own time during breaks and after work,” said production manager Steve Snook.
“It was great to win but even better that we managed to donate to such a great cause as Dorothy House.”
