Chinese garden to open in aid of unpaid carers in Wiltshire

Beggar’s Knoll, one of the few Chinese gardens in England, will be open to the public on the 22nd and 23rd July in aid of Carer Support Wiltshire.

The one-acre garden near Westbury is packed with flower filled borders set against a backdrop of Chinese pavilions, gateways and dragons.

From 2.00pm until 5.00pm visitors will be able to enjoy guided tours provided by the garden’s owners Colin Little and Penny Stirling who will provide first-hand information about the garden’s plants, structures and how it all came about.

Carer Support Wiltshire volunteers will be providing afternoon tea on the lawn or in the conservatory, depending on the weather – all included in the ticket price.  Funds raised will go to Carer Support Wiltshire and the National Garden Scheme.

Carer Support Wiltshire provides free information, advice, training and respite breaks to more than 8,000 unpaid carers across Wiltshire.  Fundraiser Helen Pearson said, “We are delighted to have been given this opportunity to raise funds through such a fabulous event. It promises to be a great day out for everyone who comes along to support us.”
