Westbury and District Choral Society is preparing for its spring concert in April when the main works will be the Vivaldi Gloria and Rutter’s popular Requiem plus a number of shorter pieces.
This Saturday, January 16th, a ‘Come & Sing Rutter’s Requiem’ workshop, open to all, will be held at the Methodist Church
Those present will be led through the main choral sections of the Rutter before giving an informal performance. Registration £5 (students £3; hire of score £2) is at 1.30pm for a 2pm start.
The spring concert will be on Saturday 16th April at Westbury Methodist Church, Station Road, Westbury, BA13 3JL at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from choral society members or on the door (available early April). Programme to include: Jenkins: Adiemus; Will Todd: No More Sorrow; Rachmaninov: Ave Maria; Schubert: Serenade D889 (Evening Breezes); Henry VII: Pastime with Good Company; Vivaldi: Gloria; Rutter: Requiem
The choir meets on Wednesday evenings at Westbury Methodist Church from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. New members are always welcome in all sections but especially tenors and basses. No audition is required.
