Singers are invited to join a choral workshop in Edington Priory Church on Saturday 19th May, working on Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, and Parry’s ‘I was Glad’.
The day will start with registration at 9.30am, and end after the concert at 6.30pm.
Organisers say, “The day will be led by the former Director of the Edington Music Festival, Ashley Grote, who is now Master of Music at Norwich Cathedral. Two fine soloists in Eloise Irving and Alex Jones, and wonderful accompaniment from Richard Pinel and Libby Burgess playing Brahms’ own four-handed arrangement of his orchestral score, will make for a wonderful day’s music making.
After the workshop ends at 4.30pm, all singers, friends and families are invited to join Edington Arts in a complimentary glass of fizz and a piece of wedding cake to toast the Royal couple whose wedding takes place the same day. Immediately following that, at 5pm, there will be a performance of both works.
Workshop places are available for all voices; the cost is £20 plus £2 for music hire. You can download an application form from www.edingtonarts. org/whats-on, or contact anne@edingtonarts.org / 01380 831425. Concert tickets are £5 on the door (18 and under come free).
