ALL Saints Church in Westbury are gearing up for their Christmas tree festival which is taking place from Friday 26th November to Sunday 28th.
The festival runs as a competition to crown the best decorated Christmas tree, with local groups and schools taking part over the years. There is availability this year for nursing homes to book a timed slot on Monday 29th November in the afternoon, between 2-4pm, so carers can let residents experience the joy of the festival. The Christmas Tree Festival will go ahead dependant on the Covid government guidance at the time.
This popular event in Westbury has been generously supported by businesses, charities and other groups for over 10 years.
All Saints Church prepared a Covid-safe plan for last year, but were unable to go ahead due to the lockdown. However, the church says it will be put to good use this year, to keep everyone safe. Hand sanitiser and masks will be advised and there will be a one-way system in place as you tour the church containing 50 trees. Entry to the event will be by donation and a guide containing a list of all their sponsors will be available for a small charge.
This year, the sponsorship fee for a tree will be £25 and the tree can be kept afterwards. Pots are provided for the duration of the event. Trees must be requested and paid for by Wednesday 27thOctober for ordering purposes. Payment can be made by cheque, cash and BACS.
You can also leave your request for an application form at the parish office letterbox in All Saints Church yard.
