A Christmas tree throwing competition will take place on Bratton Village Green on Sunday 9th January 10.00am-12.00
“Come and have a go firling,” said organiser Sue Kemp. “If you don’t have your own tree you can use one of ours.
“The first time we held the event was in 2020 but we were unable to hold it last year but are looking forward to it again now.
“The unique thing is the vim and vigour that goes with firling and the cry that gets shouted out… ‘I firl ye fair fir, I firl ye!’
“There are prizes for the adult and junior champions. £2 entry. Proceeds go to Devizes opendoors.
“All trees will be recycled afterwards. It’s a fun way to dispose of your tree!”
