Conservative Club excited about reopening and future plans

WESTBURY Conservative Club has welcomed back members after reopening its doors following its December 2020 closure due to Covid-19 restrictions.

From 18th June the club opened from 3pm Monday to Friday, and from midday on Saturday and Sunday. Closing times are dependent upon customer numbers and will be at management discretion.

Chairman, Steve Jones, said there was excitement leading up the opening. “We had been closed since the start of December, so missed out on a lot of events in that time,” he told White Horse News.

“Thankfully now though we are in a position to be open, and could not wait to welcome back our members who have been so supportive during this difficult time.

“As a club we had a full year’s entertainment booked up bringing in some of the best live music around. Sadly when Covid struck all that naturally had to change, along with our day to day running. No more skittles, pool or darts.

“Our aim now is to get the club up and running again and welcoming back our members. We are launching with an offer for limited period where people can buy 18 months membership for the price of 12 months.

“Our food menu and Sunday carvery we hope to bring back in the next few weeks, but in the meantime members can buy sausage roll and pies etc from our new hot food warmer at the bar.”

Steve said, “One of the best things about opening is that over the next few months we can finally help couples celebrate their long put off wedding day. We have lots over the next few months and our in-house organisers are working hard on last minute changes and details.

“Along now with showing the Euro’s, and in July the British Lions rugby tour, we are slowly building up to getting live music back at the club and taking it to the next level.”

Due to the extended lockdown, club memberships have lapsed.  Members will be required to renew their memberships in order to continue to maintain the benefits of discounted beverage pricing.

Any membership renewals carried out between Friday, 18th June and 31st July will attract the benefit of 18 months full membership for the price of only one year.  Renewals paid for during this time frame will provide club membership for the remainder of 2021 and the whole of 2022.

Any memberships taken out from 1st August onwards will only be valid for this current year only.

For food and drinks the club is running table service only.  Tables must be a maximum of six people.  Masks must be worn when moving around the club but can be removed once seated. To enable Track and Trace, all customers will be required to sign in upon arrival.

The garden will be closed for the time being, with further announcements about its reopening to follow.
