FRIENDS of Victoria Garden (FVG) in Westbury are inviting local people to enjoy a traditional cream tea at a garden party at the Victoria Gardens on Saturday 29th April from 3pm to 5pm to help celebrate the new additions to the garden.
The event will be complete with musical performances courtesy of Matravers students. The community group FVG, which maintains the sunken garden off the All Saints’ churchyard, are celebrating new additions to the garden that includes a shed made possible with help from a Wiltshire Council Area Board grant and stone animal carvings very generously made and donated by the Turk family of local masonry firm, StoneKraft.
FVG secretary Margaret said, “This is our first garden tea party since 2019 and we hope that it will be a re-discovery for people of how special Victoria Garden is; a hidden gem of nature right in the town centre.
“With spring weather being so warm in recent years it promises to be a lovely afternoon to relax and enjoy tea and scones and the Matravers singers, while raising funds for the maintenance of the garden. In the event of rain, we will move to the Parish Hall, just 100 yards away.”
Tickets are £5, available by emailing fvgwestbury@yahoo.co.uk or texting 07866 507170. There is free entry for under-fives but must be booked in prior to the event.
