LOCAL estate and lettings agents Daykin have been wearing denim jeans, jacket and skirts as a way to fundraise for the charity Alzheimer’s Support.
Denim4Dementia, the Alzheimer’s Support popular fundraiser, encourages people to enjoy a denim-themed mufti day and help support a good cause – £3 from everyone in denim goes to the charity.
Director, Jordan Daykin said, “Daykin Estates are proud sponsor of Alzheimer’s Support, Alzheimer’s is a cause very close to our hearts here at Daykin Estates.”
Founder Jordan Daykin has experienced the effects of Alzheimer’s first hand with the loss of his Granddad Stanley Daykin two years ago.
“The work in which Alzheimer’s Support are doing locally for those suffering for Alzheimer’s but also for the carers / family is amazing, it’s great to be able to not only raise money and awareness for a local charity but to also go and see what they are doing in the community and also meet some of the people benefiting from them.
“We have exciting plans for the future to work alongside them and me and the team have already signed up for a sky dive next September with some of the Alzheimer’s Support team!”
Others across Wiltshire have also joined in with the event including; Wiltshire Council; Holbrook Primary School; TESCO in Trowbridge; West Wiltshire Rock Choirs, Sheila’s Fitness and Wellbeing in Chippenham, Lovemead Group Practice in Trowbridge, and Morrisons in Devizes.
Rachel Fear, Alzheimer’s Support fundraiser added, “People have really taken Denim4Dementia to their hearts this year and we’ve been delighted to see so many taking part. It’s such a fun and easy way to support the day clubs, home support service, dementia advisers and activity groups that we provide right here in Wiltshire. There’s still time to sign up, simply choose a day for friends, family or colleagues to dress up in denim, pay £3 each and that’s it!”
