DIABETES UK will be giving a talk and Q&A at a special event at the Laverton next week.
Norman Holland, a service champion at the charity, will be talking to local people about living with the condition and will be on hand to answer questions about it.
The meeting, hosted by the Westbury Area Diabetes Group, will take place on Thursday 27th October from 7pm. All are welcome to come along, listen and ask questions.
Organiser and town councillor David Jenkins said, “I’m looking forward to the talk; it’s always interesting to hear from speakers like this. Diabetes is becoming a more and more serious issue because the cost to the NHS is rising and of course it causes a lot of difficulties to those who suffer with it.
“This event is open to everyone, whether they have diabetes themselves, care for someone who does, or are just interested to find out more about it. We’ll be pleased to see you there.”
Entry costs £2.50 per person. For more information contact cllr Jenkins on 01373 823605 or davidjenkins53@hotmail.com or Diane Perrett on 01373 823995 or diane.perrett@tiscali.co.uk
