WESTBURY couple, Terry and Rosemary Radley, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this month, receiving a card from the queen.
Terry and Rosemary celebrated their diamond anniversary on Thursday 6th February with a quiet meal, just the two of them.
They also received a card from the Queen, wishing them congratulations.
The couple first met in 1958 at a dance and were married two years later in 1960. Terry was in the Royal Marines for 30 years and often spent his time travelling the world.
Terry and Rosemary had two children, John and Kay, and the family visited Terry on his postings to Singapore and Malta.
Terry was then invited to become a Beefeater at the Tower of London where the family moved, living in a flat in the tower for 13 years.
After this, he was then invited to be a lecturer for P&O cruises, telling his story about the Tower of London and sailed around the world with his family for four years. They said their favourite country to visit was Norway.
On retirement, the couple moved to Westbury. They first came across Wiltshire when Terry was posted to Warminster during his time with the Royal Marines in the 70s and knew that this was where they wanted to spend their retirement.
Their son John works locally at Longleat/Center Parcs however their daughter, Kay, emigrated to Australia in 1987 where she remains as a midwife.
Terry and Rosemary have two grandchildren, Charlotte and George.
Later this year, when Kay visits for three weeks in June, they will have a family party to celebrate their anniversary and to welcome Kay home.
When asked what the secret to a long and happy marriage, they said that patience with one another will lead to a happy life.
