DILTON Marsh Parish Council is asking residents to propose areas in the village that they feel would suit a development – this could be for houses, as an area of employment, for open spaces or even allotments.
The council is asking residents for their views as it starts to prepare its Neighbourhood Plan. Neighbourhood Plans are a mechanism for helping communities, including both local residents and businesses, to influence the planning of their area.
If you know of an area in the town that you would like to see developed, please fill out a ‘call for sites form’ which is available via the parish council website – www.diltonmarsh-pc.uk
To request a paper copy of the form please email diltonmarshplan@outlook.com or call Bill Jarvis on 07818 414842. The deadline for replying is 4th August 2022.
The parish council said, “Dilton Marsh is preparing a Neighbourhood Plan to set out our planning framework to 2036. As part of our work in assessing future development needs, the parish council steering group is calling upon landowners and agents of land within the parish to put forward land that they wish to be considered for allocation for development.
“This is an informal opportunity for landowners and developers to propose sites, within the parish of Dilton Marsh, which they feel should be considered for development – meaning housing, employment, open space, allotments etc. This exercise will not necessarily result in a site being allocated for development nor will it commit the proposer(s) to applying for planning permission. The site suggestions received will be assessed as part of the preparation of the Dilton Marsh Neighbourhood Plan according to a defined methodology.
“There is no obligation on the parish council or its steering group to support any future application for development on land that has been brought forward. Any site allocated in the Dilton Marsh Neighbourhood Plan will be subject to a planning application, which will be determined by Wiltshire Council.”
