Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme……….and savory, lovage, lemon balm and many other herbs were the topic of discussion at the September meeting.
Dorothy Whittle shared her experiences of growing and using herbs in an interesting talk to an audience boosted by several visitors. Various herbs were passed round and dutifully sniffed as members also shared their tips for using herbs in cooking and even keeping ants away.
Reports were also given about the quiz which took place earlier in the week as local WIs pitted their wits against each other in competition for the Dilton Marsh Challenge Cup. The winning team, who will host the challenge next year, was from Edington and Tinhead WI.
As usual, details about a number of countywide events were shared along with further details of the programme for the rest of the year. Any visitors to WI meetings would be made very welcome; meetings are held in the Memorial Hall on the second Thursday of very month at 7.30pm.
