Edington Parish Council clerk, Malcolm Wieck, celebrated 40 years in the role at an evening hosted by parish council members.
During the course of the evening Malcolm was presented with a painting by the chair of the parish council, Eric Mitchell, in recognition of all the hours of work he has put into the job.
Malcolm gave a short speech outlining some of the differences between when he started in the job and now. He said, “When I started in the position 40 years ago there were only four council meetings per year whereas now there are 12. I thoroughly enjoy the job, and have no intention of retiring in the near future.”
