Westbury Area Board’s next meeting on Thursday 6th February (7pm at the Laverton) will have an environmental theme, and people from across the community area are invited to come along and have their say.
The meeting will include a presentation from cllr Richard Clewer (deputy leader of Wiltshire Council) who will talk about the measures that Wiltshire Council have taken in order to contend with the climate emergency, which was declared by the authority last year.
There will also be the chance for local people to have their say in round table discussions about what could be done locally to ensure people in Westbury Community Area are “doing their bit”. This could include encouraging people to walk/cycle/use public transport more and use their car less, recycle more and make small changes to their lifestyle to reduce energy consumption.
Community engagement manager, Graeme Morrison said, “This is a great opportunity for local people to find out what their local authority are doing in response to the climate emergency and to talk about what action we can take locally.
“I hope that as many people as possible come along and get involved.”
