A NEW community interest company has been set up to bring new events to Westbury – and they are planning to kick things off with a special coronation Market Place concert.
Westbury Market Place Events Ltd’s first event will feature performances by From Jovi, a Bon Jovi tribute band and Cidernova, an Oasis tribute band, as well as a free afternoon tea party for older residents.
The company has been set up by local pub landlord and Westbury town and Wiltshire councillor, Matthew Dean, who says he wants to put on more events in the town to help put Westbury on the map.
“The final details are yet to be ironed out, but we have plans to hold a concert to help celebrate the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday 6th May,” he said.
“I’ve always felt that Westbury needs more events to help put it on the map and give our residents more to enjoy in the summer months. We’re blessed in Westbury that we have a great range of events such as the Chilli Fest, the Westbury Festival, the Soapbox Derby and a number of local establishments that offer live music, but it would be great to add to this growing list. I also know how important it is to drive more people into the town to help support the local economy – and what better way than to host an event in the Market Place?”
Matthew added, “For our first event, we will be hosting a concert in the Market Place that will feature some great music from an Oasis cover band and a Bon Jovi tribute band as well as some other local bands. This will be following the Westbury Town Council’s coronation event in Soisy Gardens where the coronation will be shown live to the public for free on a large screen.
“We will be also hosting an afternoon tea party for older residents that will be free and will include a singalong. We’re hoping to release the details about all of this soon.”
Cidernova is a five-piece Bristol based Oasis cover band that has gigged throughout Wiltshire.
Based in the South West of England, From Jovi are fast becoming one of the most exciting and sought after Bon Jovi tribute bands around. Following a number of sell out shows to rave reviews, 2023 is set to be bigger and better. Their fully live set combines the classic hits with some not so well-known additions for the true Bon Jovi purist.
