THE Westbury and District Cricket Club is pleading for those that use the shared green space at the Leighton Recreation Centre to respect their equipment following another incident of vandalism.
The club has recently seen the shed lock broken, sponsorship boards knocked down, and they have also found holes in their cricket pitch covers.
The club say that they are working with the police to find a solution to the ongoing vandalism issues, as the club also previously saw their expensive net system damaged and graffiti sprayed on sponsorship boards.
The club say, “It’s not even the start of season and we’ve already been subject to damage and an attempted break into our shed! Last year we had a season full of damage and we can only do our best to provide a safe and enjoyable space for everyone to use but these setbacks do not help with our future development.
“We would like everyone who uses the ground as a green space to please respect it and if you see any wrong doings to please contact the reception at Leighton Recreation Centre, or please contact us via Facebook messenger. We are working with Leighton, Wiltshire Council and the police to look at how best we tackle this situation.”
