EXCITEMENT is building for the White Horse Festival, this year taking place over two days at White Horse Country Park in Westbury, next bank holiday weekend.
Join in a weekend of cars, crafts, dancing, singing, and competition on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August. There will also be activities for children with fairground rides, bouncy castles, face painting and train rides.
Gates open at 2pm on Saturday 25th August, with craft stalls and classic cars on show including MGs, Jaguars, Minis, Marcos and more. At 2.30pm Westbury Rugby will be holding a tug-of-war competition. Live entertainment begins from 4pm with the Infinity Dance Troupe, Steeple Rocks choir at 4.45pm, popular band Peaky Blinders at 6pm, followed by another performance from Infinity dance troupe at 7.15pm.
The evening’s main event, the ‘Oscars Reunion Disco with Neil Hawker and Warren Smith,’ will play music to take you back to those days of the Oscars nightclub, themed from the 1980s to now!
On Sunday 26th August, gates open again at 2pm. At 3pm there will be an unsigned acoustic showcase competition, where acts will compete for prizes. The winning act will receive a trophy, paid placement on the main bill of artistes at next year’s festival, a Shure SM58 microphone, courtesy of Sounds of Frome, three 2-hour free studio rehearsal sessions courtesy of Crest Studios, a £100 in-store gift voucher courtesy of GuitarBitz, plus a promotional write-up and interview, which will be published on all White Horse Festival forums. Prizes are also available for second and third positions.
Then at 5.15pm five live bands will be performing; Fusion, Panama, AFK, Soul Strutters, followed by this year’s headline act ‘Duran Duran’ tribute band, who will play until the closing of the festival at 12am. Throughout the weekend, there will be a licensed bar selling beer, lager and cider, shorts, soft drinks and wine. They will be available to take anywhere around the site.
Tickets are £15 for 1-day and £20 for 2-days. There is camping available at this event for £10 per night, per pitch.
Children under 14 are free when accompanied by an adult. Pre-book wristbands are available for collection upon arrival. No dogs are allowed on site, except assistance dogs.
