THE Leigh Park Community Centre (LPCC) is hosting a family fun day to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, on Friday 3rd June, from 10am to 4pm.
Organisers say, “There will also be live music on the day, children’s entertainers, dance performances, inflatables, The View party bus, licenced bar, stalls, free games for the children and much more.
“We will also be hosting a variety of food stalls including a barbecue, pre-order picnics and The Lounge Coffee Shop which caters for all tastes including vegan and gluten-free options. Visitors can also enjoy an assortment of sweet treats from the cake stall, Little Sugarush sweet cart, popcorn and candyfloss stalls and ice cream van.”
Among the host of entertainment and activities, organisers have put together a bake off to find the town’s best baker. Budding bakers are invited to impress the judges in the Jubilee Bake Off with their fantastic royal- themed creations.
All you need to do is email the LPCC with your name and age category (Under 16s or Over 16s) to office@lpccwestbury.org.uk by the end of May, then bring your cake to Leigh Park Community Centre by 12pm on Friday 3rd June.
The over 16s’ first prize is a Union Jack ceramic cake stand and £20 cash, sponsored by Demaine Artisan www.demaineartisan. co.uk. The runner-up will receive a Jubilee apron, sponsored by Little Sugarush www.facebook.com/ LittleSugarush. The under 16s’ first prize is a Jubilee cake tin and £20 cash, sponsored by Gooding Accounts www.goodingaccounts.co.uk. The runner-up will receive a Jubilee wooden spoon, also sponsored by Gooding Accounts. The judges are not only looking for the best decorated, but also the tastiest cake too. Winners will be announced by 3pm on the day.
