LEIGH Park Community Centre held their family fun day on Sunday 2nd September. The free event brought local people together in a local venue and provided activities to take part in, entertainment and hot food.
Children were invited to access all areas of a First bus, including sitting in the driving seat! There was various stalls from children’s books, a tombola raising money for the centre, face painting, sand art and a free bouncy castle.
The attraction of the day was Kris from Tropical Discoveries as he brought his collection of creepy crawlies which visitors could hold, including snakes and spiders.
The community centre is self-sufficient, relying on trustees and volunteers to maintain the centre and help continue these opportunities and activities.
If you have a few hours to spare each month to attend meetings to discuss current and future plans for the centre and could consider becoming a trustee, the community centre would be pleased to hear from you. Also needed are people willing to volunteer their time to help sustain regular events such as the youth club.
