A new local art studio with a difference is going from strength to strength.
The Fearless and Fun Art Studio launched six months ago offering relaxed, informal art sessions that focus on wellbeing rather than artistic ability.
Founded by local artist Kim Heath and based above the Flower Hive in the heart of Westbury, the studio began with just two morning sessions. Due to growing interest, it has gently expanded and now runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings and afternoons plus Friday mornings, along with selected Thursday evening sessions, with plans to introduce one Saturday workshop each month, the first being on Saturday 24th January from 10am to 3pm.
What makes the business different, Kim says, is its relaxed, pressure-free approach to creativity.
“Fearless & Fun isn’t about being able to draw or paint,” Kim explains. “It’s simply about adding colour to paper, making marks, and enjoying the process. It’s amazing what you can create. Watching people walk in feeling low and leave smiling has been the biggest joy.”
For many regulars, the sessions have become an important part of their routine.
Claire, who attends weekly, describes the impact as life-changing.
“It really has changed my life,” she says. “I look forward to every Friday. I always leave feeling lighter and happier.”
Jo, who comes a couple of times a month, says the welcoming atmosphere keeps drawing her back.
“There’s no pressure and no judgement,” Jo explains.
“You don’t have to be artistic. You just turn up, enjoy the time, and leave feeling better.”
Lynette, who attends monthly, admits she wasn’t sure what to expect when she first came along.
“I’d never done anything like this before,” she says. “But it’s relaxed, friendly and genuinely enjoyable. It’s something I now really look forward to.”
For Pauline, the workshops have reawakened a long-forgotten passion.
“I loved art when I was younger, but life got in the way,” she says. “Fearless & Fun has rekindled that artistic side of me. It’s been incredibly uplifting.”
Kim says hearing these stories has been both humbling and motivating.
“What started as a small hobby has grown into a local business that’s helping people feel better in themselves,” she says.
“Knowing it supports people’s wellbeing is mind-blowing.”
Looking ahead, Kim is planning to introduce new workshops, including abstract art sessions and innovative decoupage on glass, but not as we know it – encouraging members to explore their creativity one step further.
People are invited to find out more by calling Kim on 07921 805006, or by popping into the Flower Hive on a Tuesday or Thursday for a friendly chat.
Original artwork is also available to purchase.
“As the new year begins, Fearless & Fun Art is proudly establishing itself as a Westbury business that proves creativity isn’t about talent – it’s about courage, connection and giving yourself permission to try,” said Kim.
