THE 2022 Dilton Marsh Flower and Handicraft Show proved extremely popular this year with the event seeing entrants of all ages – including many participants who had not entered before.
“On Saturday 9th July a large variety of plants, fruits and veg, handicrafts, cookery and photography were on show with a high standard of entry throughout,” said the show committee. “Many beautiful items were entered into the handicraft classes demonstrating the creativity and skill of the entrants.
“New to the show this year were some of the children’s classes including the vegetable character which attracted lots of entries and showed locals just how creative the young people of Dilton Marsh really are.
“Some people have said that they’ve never seen the hall so full! We would like to extend thanks to all involved in putting the show together, and everyone who attended on the day.
“We would like to thank our members Angie, Eunice, Maureen, Priscilla, Jennifer, Charlotte, and Ingrid, as well as the show’s judges Claire, Jocelyn, Sonja, Steve, William and Valerie for all their help and hard work on the day.
“With special thanks also to Pam Good, whose late husband Chris had been chair of the committee for 13 years – we feel sure he would have been very proud of the show this year and it was wonderful to have Pam with us on the day for the prize giving and generosity with homemade apple juice.
“Of course, the show couldn’t go ahead without its sponsors, so a warm thank you to you all again. And last but not least, thank you to everyone who entered the show – your hard work really paid off and helped to create a wonderful community event!”
