IF you’re looking for a flag to help cheer on England – or any other country – in the World Cup, look no further than Meadowland in Southwick just down the road.
They are one of the country’s leading suppliers of flags, banners, bunting and flag poles and with the World Cup just around the corner, they have got some fantastic deals for football fans.
“Whether you are after a single England flag, World Cup bunting featuring all 32 countries or our popular ‘World Cup Pack’ with a flag of every country and two lengths of 9.9m bunting, we’re the people to call,” said Bob Greatwood.
“We supply our products to a wide range of customers which include councils, schools, clubs, event organisers, all areas of the catering trade, individual pubs and pub groups and many other types of business, and of course the general public. We have a vast range to offer. Let us theme your event.
“And we’re based right here in the heart of Wiltshire, just ten minutes down the road from Westbury.
“We supply flags for a wide range of events, for instance Wiltshire Day (5th June if anyone is interested!); National Armed Forces Day on the 28th June; the Scottish Independence Referendum in September; and Remembrance Day in November.
“And we’ve got waistcoats to go alongside, table flags, bunting, windsocks and lots more.”
And it could be a bumper time for flag flying after recent changes in regulations introduced by the Government Communities Secretary Eric Pickles.
A wider range of flags can now be flown without seeking consent from the local council meaning individuals, businesses and community groups will now be able fly their chosen flag with pride without incurring costs of up to £335.
Secretary of State Eric Pickles said, “The widespread flag flying during the Royal Wedding, Diamond Jubilee and Olympics is evidence of a gradual cultural change in Britain. The British people are increasingly proud to fly flags as an expression of their local and national identities.
“Flags unite communities across colour, creed and class, so I am cutting municipal red tape to make it easier to fly Britain’s varied and diverse flags without state interference.”
