11 members of the Westbury Walkers, led by Rob Hearnden, set off from the Westbury car park to climb to the Imber Range path via the pumping station near Wellhead Drove.
The climb was a bit testing and on reaching the top, a coffee stop was welcome. By then, the weather had cleared and the sun was showing promise. The walk took the group past the White Horse where a hang glider was weighing up his prospects.
Some half mile or so further on, a left turn was taken down into Bratton where lunch was enjoyed. From here, the walk proceeded down to the Lower Road, passing ‘Hanging Judge Jefferies’ one time residence (looking well maintained), and on to Westbury, where a few members called into the cemetery to pay respects at the grave of the club’s long-serving treasurer, who was sadly missed. This was a walk of about eight miles enjoyed by all on a very fair day for February.
