CHILDREN across Westbury are being asked to get creative and design a Christmas card for the mayor’s annual competition – and the overall winner will be given the chance to switch on the Christmas lights and officially welcome Christmas to Westbury!
The competition is open to all children aged 3-11, either living or attending school in Westbury and the surrounding villages. Three winners will be chosen by the mayor – one from each age category: A – three to five years; B – six to eight; and C – nine to 11. Each winner will receive a £25 voucher. One overall winning design will feature on the Westbury Town Council Christmas card and the lucky winner will help the mayor switch-on the Christmas lights.
Entries should be flat artwork in any medium or combination (drawing, pastel, crayon, montage, photography etc) and will be acceptable up to A4 (210x297mm – 8.25×11.75 inches) size (landscape or portrait).
The town council says, “Owing to technical difficulties, we can only accept flat artwork. Additions such as glitter, cotton wool, lumpy tissue paper etc make scanning the image for reproduction almost impossible.”
Entries can be sent in now to Westbury Town Council, The Laverton, Bratton Road, Westbury BA13 3EN. The deadline is 12pm on Friday 24th November.
