There’s been an invasion of giant animatronic bugs at Longleat, part of ‘Marvellous Monsters’ – a new feature opening at the park this Easter.
The attraction celebrates the amazing world of insects and aims to highlight the softer side of bugs and the vital role they play in keeping our planet alive.
In addition to inside the hedge maze, the gigantic insects; including a 15 metre long millipede and a six metre tall caterpillar, have taken up residence across the estate.
Visitors will also be able to watch special bug shows and enjoy close encounters with a variety of living insects throughout the Easter holidays.
“Marvellous Monsters is one of the most ambitious exhibitions we have staged here,” said Longleat’s Steve Mytton “All the animatronic insects are based on real life bugs and we have just scaled them up to be the size of cars and vans.
“Our aim is to showcase just how incredible and awe-inspiring these creatures are but also to try and dispel some of the myths and misunderstandings about them,” he added.
Themed activities – including live entertainment, historical exhibitions and much more – will also be taking place throughout the main season.
