Sat. 24th Oct. League Westbury Utd Res 5 Potterne FC 1
UNITED Reserves got off to a flyer when debutant Louis Wilkins opened the scoring after 60 seconds.
Ten minutes later, Utd were awarded a free kick on the corner of the box which Dew stepped up and curled it into the top corner to give the Greens a two nil lead. Dew and Wilkins both missed glorious chances to kill the game, before Potterne”s Ash Huntley scored a great free kick to get them back into the game. The first half ended 2-1, even though both sides had half chances to add to their tally.
The second half started similar to the first as 17-year-old Wilkins smashed home his second goal of the game. Both sides were playing good football considering the conditions, but it was Westbury who put the game out of sight. After good work from Bishop, it was Ollie Dew who made no mistake to give Utd a 4-1 advantage. Substitutes Dawes and Devanney were now starting to find gaps in the Potterne defence, but it was Harry Trevor who wrapped up the scoring with a fifth goal in the closing minutes.
