Gooding Accounts team raise £3,000 for Wiltshire Mind

Sam Gooding presented the cheque to Paul Mills from Wiltshire Mind

GOODING Accounts’ recent charity quiz night raised £3,000 to support the life-changing work carried out by Wiltshire Mind.

The quiz night took place at Trowbridge Rugby Club on Friday 1st March which saw almost 200 guests help raise money for the charity.

Wiltshire Mind supports people across our community who are experiencing mental health problems and emotional distress. The charity relies on voluntary donations from the local community to help fund their work, from adult counselling to peer support groups, to wellbeing programmes for schools and much more.

Gooding Accounts partner, Sam Gooding, who hosted the evening said, “We’re thrilled that the event was such a success and would like to thank everyone who came along to support us and this fantastic local charity.”

Paul Mills, chief executive of Wiltshire Mind commented,“The money raised at the event makes a huge difference to our communities across Wiltshire in providing mental health and wellbeing support. Demand for our support continues to rise year on year, so on behalf of our beneficiaries, a massive thank you to the Gooding Accounts team and everyone who supported the quiz night. The £3,000 will go directly into providing support locally”.

The popular quiz night will return for round two on Friday 8th November, so if you fancy pitting your wits against teams from across Wiltshire, tickets will be on sale later in the year.

The event was the first of many as part of Gooding Accounts ten year anniversary celebration, which will see the team raise at least £50,000 for charities close to their hearts. The growing firm, which has offices in Melksham, Westbury and Warminster will be hosting a range of events across Wiltshire during 2024, including a charity golf day, a summer party and a sporting dinner to raise much-needed funds for local charities.

The team will also be taking on a range of personal challenges including a sober challenge, a summer of ultra marathons, tackling Snowdon by night and even a skydive.
