TWO local projects have received funding from Westbury Area Board.
Dilton Marsh History Society has received £500 for their project ‘A Village at War.’ The aim of the project is to commemorate and preserve the heritage of Dilton Marsh from the Second World War. The funding is for a project to make 500 CDs containing a digital archive and virtual exhibition to give free of charge to the community.
This will feature a gallery and information about soldiers from the village, a mini documentary explaining life in a wartime rural community, as well as any memories of villagers. This will preserve this heritage for the future, making it accessible to all and will be part of a larger project involving the community in activities, training and living history events.
Westbury and District U3A has received a grant for £378 from the area board to fund publicity equipment. This is to help them increase their membership.
