WESTBURY’S Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal shop is thanking customers for their support after heartless thieves stole cash from the premises.
The shop reports that £130 was taken from the till at the end of the day, while volunteers were hard at work serving customers.
Manager Carrie Aldous said, “It was coming up to closing time, 4.00pm or 4.30pm. I was out the back, the other lady was dealing with customers and starting to bring stuff into the shop. When we came to cash up we were down.
“It is a lot of money, and that wasn’t a good day for us. The volunteers work very hard and it did upset them. But the customers have all been brilliant, we’ve had a few donations to make it up, and they’ve been very supportive.”
The theft has been reported to the police.
