Day of festivities will lead to Christmas lights switch on
‘Christmas in Westbury’ kicks off in style on Saturday 23rd November with an exciting day of festive events culminating with the big Christmas lights switch-on.
It’s the first time the switch-on has been combined with the main day of Christmas events. Now in its eighth year, Christmas in Westbury features a range of major events acting as a town focus, along with the co-promotion of other local events and activities, creating a community-wide programme that offers something for everyone.
Details of all events will once again be published in the ever popular ‘Christmas in Westbury’ booklet, 10,000 of which will be distributed to every home in the local area, by mid-November. There will be free parking in Westbury car parks for the day.
Saturday’s events day and switch-on event will be from 10.00am – 9.00pm in the town centre and Market Place. There will be Christmas penguins, reindeer, music, inflatables on Soisy Gardens, street entertainers and more.
The funfair will be located in the Market Place from 10.00am through until 9.00pm, with a two-deck fun house, swing boats, rodeo bull, soft play, chair planes, refreshments, candy floss, popcorn and a hog roast.
The Christmas lights switch on event will be from 5.30pm–6.30pm, with Father Christmas, music, mince pies, mulled wine, entertainment and much more.
