The Horse & Groom in Westbury hosted a charity lunch on Saturday 14th March in aid of England Rugby charity ‘The Wooden Spoon’.
This charity works to collect monies for children’s projects all over the country, including right here in Wiltshire.
Over 40 people joined in for lunch at The Horse and Groom to watch the rugby and enjoy a three course lunch whilst contributing to the charity via a sweep stake and a raffle, overall collecting £450.
Bob Musker, landlord of the Horse and Groom and a keen Rugby supporter said, “Since reopening the pub nearly two years ago our locals have supported all our charity events and given generously.
“This is the second Calcutta Cup Rugby Lunch that we have organised and it was a total sell out. ‘The Wooden Spoon’ is a great charity and all the money we raise is spent right here in Wiltshire.”
