THE Westbury Inner Wheel Club’s charity quiz night was a roaring success, with the club raising over £350 for local charities. The night was organised by Inner Wheel member Julie Street and was held at the Leigh Park Community Centre.
The event was attended by over 50 people who were welcomed by the president of the club, Linda Eaglesham. The club managed to raise £358.60 which will be distributed to local charities.
A raffle was also held with prizes donated by local businesses, these were: Pinniger Finch and Co, The Horse and Groom, Fore Hair, The Bronzer Tanning Studio, The Lounge at Leigh Park, Davies DIY Shop, Fairfield Opportunity Farm Cafe, The Clean Machine, The Hollies, Norman from The Westbury Shed, Westbury Pottery and the local Rotary and Inner Wheel clubs.
The organiser Julie Street said, “We were most grateful to these businesses for their kindness which helped to boost our profits which are to be donated to local charities. Everyone seemed to have a great time and we managed to raise money for good causes at the same time. The event was such a success that we hope to hold another quiz night next year!”
The quiz master was Cavan Algar who also set the questions. Half way through the evening a supper of fish and chips was served by the Leigh Park volunteer staff.
