LEARN how to save a life with Westbury First Responders.
On July 8th, Westbury First Responders are holding the event, “Learn CPR for Free”, where members of the public can come along and learn this life-saving skill.
Justin Whatley from Westbury First Responders said, “Basically it’s very simple to learn – my daughter is eight and she can do it, so children can learn it too. If you know how to do CPR, it can make the difference between life and death, you’re basically keeping that person alive until the ambulance comes.”
In the session, the First Responders will teach people how to do CPR, and then they will have the opportunity to practise the technique with Resusci Annie dolls.
In the session there will be the chance to find out more about the work of Westbury First Responders as there will be a short presentation from the team. As well as the CPR demonstrations, there will also be information and advice on how to deal with a stroke.
Westbury First Responders is made up of volunteers who are trained to attend emergency calls, providing life-saving treatment to people within the local community. They attend to people who are critically injured or ill in the first few minutes prior to the arrival of an emergency ambulance.
• Learn CPR for Free will be held at 7.30pm on July 8th at the Laverton.
