An 11-year-old boy from Bratton is running 60 miles throughout June to raise money for an autism charity.
Romeo Langley is taking on the challenge to raise money and awareness for the National Autistic Society. He chose to support the charity as he has autism himself.
He will run around five times a week and hopes to build up to half marathon distance.
“With his autism, he has struggled with schooling, so we decided to take up running together as that’s meant to help with mental health,” said Romeo’s dad, Joshua. “We came across this challenge, and I said to Romeo, ‘why don’t you do this?’
“Obviously, I do it with him, but this is Romeo’s challenge. This is about him raising awareness for autism and some much-needed support for the National Autistic Society and the support they give children and adults.”
The National Autistic Society supports autistic people and their families in the UK. The charity’s work includes running specialist schools, campaigning for improved rights and training companies to be more autism-friendly.
