As the festive season approaches, local parish churches in Westbury and surrounding villages are preparing to welcome the community for their Christmas celebrations.
Whether you’re seeking a traditional carol service, a family-friendly gathering, or a quiet moment of worship, there’s something for everyone in this year’s Christmas schedule.
“We look forward to celebrating Christmas in our local parish churches; all are welcome to our services,” said Rev. Rebecca Harris, team rector at the White Horse Team Ministry.
Services are as follows:
Wednesday 18 December
Westbury Town Carols by Candlelight at 6.30pm. The Christmas story in word and song with singing to well-known traditional carols. Followed by seasonal refreshments.
Sunday 22nd December
Nativity and Carol service at Holy Saviour, Westbury Leigh Community Hall at 4pm – Re-telling the Christmas story with local people dressed as the Christmas characters. “Feel free to join in by dressing up as an angel, a shepherd or a king,” said Rev. Harris. “We shall be singing some favourite carols too.” Followed by seasonal refreshments.
Sunday 22nd December
Carol Service at 6pm at Holy Trinity Church, Dilton Marsh – with music from Warminster Brass Band. Followed by seasonal refreshments.
Monday 23rd December
Carol service at All Saints’ Church, Brokerswood “Tin Church” at 6pm – followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
Christmas Eve 24th December
Crib Service for all the family at All Saints’ Church, Westbury at 4pm. “We tell the Christmas story and bless our Christmas Crib,” said Rev. Harris.
Christmas Eve 24th December
Midnight Mass with Carols at All Saints Church starting at 11.30pm.
Christmas Eve 24th December
Midnight Mass with Carols at Holy Trinity Church, Dilton Marsh at 11.30pm.
Christmas Day 25th December
Holy Communion (said) at 8am at All Saints’ Church, Westbury.
Christmas Day
Holy Communion with Carols at 9.30am at All Saints’ Church, Westbury.
Christmas Day
Holy Communion with Carols at 9.30am at Holy Trinity, Dilton Marsh.
Christmas Day
Holy Communion with Carols at 10am at Holy Saviour Church, Westbury Leigh.
