ADVANCE Insurance Agencies Ltd, with branches in Trowbridge, Westbury, Chippenham and Swindon, have been praised for their safe working during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Advance Insurance Agencies Ltd is classed as providing essential financial services and have Key Worker status. Although for health and safety reasons they have temporarily closed their high street doors to the general public, all their branches remain open and available for motor and household insurance by telephone.
As part of their duties Wiltshire Council are carrying out checks to ensure that businesses that remain open are operating safely, following all relevant instructions and guidelines regarding office working and social distancing and have the required health controls in place, under the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) England Regulations 2020. These checks include reviewing how many staff are working in each office and how many are working from home, how the staff are working and whether social distancing is being adhered to.
Chris Barnes, Operations Manager at Advance Insurance Agencies, stated “We take the health and welfare of all our team members seriously. Shutting our office doors to the public, in advance of the current enforced lockdown, ensured we protected both customers and staff whilst enabling us to continue to provide insurance to all our clients and new customers safely over the phone.”
“We have secured additional equipment such as laptops and mobile phones to enable many of our team members to work from home and currently have the majority of our staff working remotely. This in turn provides more space for the minority that continue to work in our offices and we are more than able to maintain the required social distancing measures. After careful consideration, we have also been able to furlough some employees”.
Upon completion of all the necessary checks the Public Protection Service at Wiltshire Council stated that they had no concerns, they were pleased the company is following FCA guidance and concluded by saying “You are doing exceptionally well in ensuring you keep your team safe”.
