Local groups are providing support and warm spaces for the Westbury community throughout the festive period.
Groups such as the Westbury Area Network (WAN) which runs the town’s foodbank and community fridge, and Crosspoint, a charity which offers help and support to residents throughout the year, are operating over the festive period, offering support for the community.
Westbury Area Network
Westbury Area Network (WAN) operates the Foodbank in Westbury and the surrounding villages and also provides the Community Fridge, at Westbury Community Project (WCP). It also provides the Community Fridge at Leigh Park Community Centre (LPCC) together with the centre’s management.
LPCC will be closed over the Christmas period but the Community Fridge there will remain open with reduced hours.
The foodbank be closed on Monday 22nd December and food parcels for Christmas Day will be available on 24th December in the late afternoon. The foodbank will be open as usual on Monday 29th December.
The Foodbank will be open at the normal hours again from Monday 5th January 2026.
The Community Fridge at WCP will be open as normal on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 10.30 until 11.30am over the Christmas period except for Wednesday 24th December when it will be open in the late afternoon. It will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day.
The Community Fridge at LPCC will be open Monday to Friday from 9.30am until 4.30pm over the Christmas period, except for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Users of this service at LPCC can come to WCP on Christmas Eve, as above.

Crosspoint
Crosspoint will be open as usual for most of the festive period, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, when it will be closed.
Kevin Fairman, Crosspoint Chair, said, “Crosspoint will be open to help the local community with support including benefits checks and assistance central / local government forms, access to phones and computers, CV preparation and job searching, a 1-1 counselling service, crisis food supplies and a warm and welcoming space.”
Dilton Memorial Hall Christmas party
A community Christmas lunch, prepared by a professional chef, is taking place on 28th December at Dilton Memorial Hall. The event is free and open to anyone to attend. Free transport to and from the event can also be arranged by contacting the Dilton Memorial Hall trustees.
“Christmas can be a time of fun and family, it can also be a time of sadness and loneliness. Dilton Memorial Hall Trustees would like you to join them for a lovely Christmas lunch,” said Kathy Hutt, a trustee.
“It promises to be a jolly afternoon starting with a tasty meal then some music, singing, dancing and games.”
