Local schoolchildren meet Britain’s Got Talent finalist

BRITAIN’S Got Talent finalist Sam Kelly was in Westbury recently, and as well as a well-received performance at the Laverton he also spent time in local schools. 

Sam was at Dilton Marsh Primary School, where he sang with his guitar. He impressed pupils with his performances and then took the time to answer plenty of questions.

Sam said he was delighted to be able to come into the school to meet pupils and share his love of music. “I love doing this, I wish someone would have come into my school, I would have got into music at a younger age,” he said. “It is never too early to start.”

That evening Sam also performed at a special concert at Matravers, alongside performances from students.

On Saturday Sam performed at the Laverton as one of the artists in The Live Session in the Westbury Music and Arts Festival. It was just the second time Sam has performed with his band, following his first gig with them in Swindon two nights before. He performed his own songs, written by himself and his band, as well as some of the songs seen on Britain’s Got Talent.

Performing to a packed hall and appreciative audience, Sam was joined by other artists to provide an evening of varied entertainment. Other performers included Beth Porter, Frome’s Street Bandits, Muriel Lavender, Danielle Reed, The Penny Red and Leander Morales.
