THE mother of a young boy whose best friend is a bulldog is encouraging people to look at larger dogs in a different light.
Arthur, who is 11 months old, can often be found on walks around the town with his mother, Chloe Raymond, and their five-year-old bulldog, George. But Chloe says that she is often approached by people who express concerns due to the size difference between the pair, and she wants to dispel the myth that bigger dogs can be a danger.
“Arthur and George have been in each other’s lives for 11 months,” she explained. “People kept saying to keep George away from that type of breed, but they have been best of friends since Arthur was born.
“George absolutely loves him and is so loving with him. We enjoy our walks with each other and Arthur loves watching George splash around in the water.
“George is very good with Arthur when it comes to food and he is so gentle with him. George is very much a big friendly giant.
“People on walks always stop us to tell us their concerns about George being with Arthur, and they clearly worry, but this is a real shame because these dogs get looked down on and they are just the softest of dogs.
“It’s such a shame people have this opinion about them.”
